Rare radio broadcast recordings that complete the output of the renowned Miles Davis Sextet, including outstanding improvisations by Miles, Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans. This release contains all of the existing live recordings of the celebrated Miles Davis Sextet with the exception of the well-known concerts at the Plaza Hotel and the Newport Jazz Festival. The sessions on this disc took place at : Café Bohemia, New York, May 17, 1958; Spotlight Lounge, Washington D.C., June 30, 1958, and November 1, 1958; and Birdland, New York, January 3, 1959. Other musicians involved were : Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones & Jimmy Cobb. The two later sessions occurred immediately prior to the sessions for the classic album “Kind of Blue”.
