Hard bop tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks recording career didnt really start until he played on the Jimmy Smith album The Sermon in 1958. Subsequently he recorded some superb LPs for the Blue Note label as both leader and sideman. His final studio sessions were in 1961 and he died in 1974 without recording again.
Included here are four complete albums: Minor Move, True Blue, Back to the Tracks and The Waiting Game. Other musicians involved include stars such as Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, Duke Jordan, Paul Chambers, Art Blakey and others. (Discovery Records)
